Lay back, relax, and fill your home or office with the delicious scent of Sweet Lemongrass, Vanilla Spice, or Jasmine -- without adding dangerous carcinogens. When you light up one of these candles made from palm wax, you're doing a service to yourself, the planet, and the impoverished women who produce them.
Each palm wax candle is hand-poured and crafted using the finest high-quality candle fragrances. Palm wax candles are created from a renewable, sustainable resource and do not emit toxins when burned, unlike paraffin-based candles. Palm wax is derived from the kernel of a palm plant, which are grown on trees and picked rather than sown in a field and harvested, requiring much less energy and labor. The palm kernel has one of the highest oil contents of any plant, so a lot of wax can be grown in a small amount of space.
The candles are produced by women involved with Bright Endeavors, a nonprofit social enterprise that helps inner-city and at-risk women gain the skills needed to make a living and become self-sufficient.
Tall candle ($10.00) measures 6.5" T x 2" dia. (16.5 x 5.1 cm), and short candle ($12.00) measures 4" T x 3" dia. (10.2 x 7.6 cm). Sweet Lemongrass is yellow, Vanilla Spice is cream colored, and Jasmine is greenish-blue.
